Employee Spotlight – Kelly Halligan

mperry Employee Spotlight

What’s a normal day like for you?

I usually head into the office with a plan in mind—something along the lines of working on a number of tickets, configuring equipment for end users, or multiple projects that may include Office 365 migrations. Usually within an hour or two from the start of the day, eight different things that I had not planned for come up. I then work to prioritize and take things as they come in!

What drew you in to the technology field?

I started with the organization as a temporary employee assisting with data entry. I have been taught just about everything in house!

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

When I was a teenager I wanted to be a hairdresser, then a personal trainer and also a nutritionist.

What’s your favorite / most rewarding part of working at Novus?

Our team and the environment we have created. It’s refreshing to enjoy those you spend the majority of your day with. There is an abundance of support.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I thoroughly love bodybuilding. I am a fan of cooking, learning, exploring, writing, reading, traveling, listening to all sorts of music, caring for my cat, and getting creative. It is important to me to spend time with friends and family, while still leaving time to myself. I enjoy trying new things. I am madly in love with the sky and snap photos any chance I get; usually while I’m driving—safety first!

What’s the coolest place you’ve traveled? / Your favorite place on earth?

One of the coolest places I have traveled was Greece. Other than the obvious stunning sunset, beaches, food, and land, learning the culture was the best part. My favorite place on earth is my home!

What’s a guilty pleasure of yours?

Having breakfast for dinner, talking about food all day, and setting and achieving personal goals.

What are some fun facts about yourself?

I tend to start reading a book, and midway through, I’ll put it down and start another book, then head back to the original book at a later time. The first time someone has successfully pulled off a surprise for me was on my 30th birthday. I can’t whistle. I recently competed in my first bodybuilding competition where I won first place in my class and earned my Pro card!
